Season 11 has a funny way of humbling your Paladin. You'll tweak talents, chase perfect tempering, then one drop flips the whole feel of the build. That's exactly what happened to me with Dawnfire, the Ancestral Unique gloves that turn your Holy Light passive into a steady Fire aura. Most "free damage" effects sound better on paper than they play. Dawnfire doesn't. The aura is always on, always ticking, and it changes how you move. You stop dancing at the edge of fights and start cutting straight through the middle. It's especially noticeable in tight rooms and corridors where enemies naturally clump. You'll also notice your pulls get cleaner: stragglers that would've lived at 5% HP just drop while you're already lining up the next group.
Here's the part that makes the gloves oppressive in dense content. When an enemy dies inside the aura, you gain a huge damage boost for a short window, and it stacks up to ten times. In Helltides or high-tier Nightmare Dungeons, that's basically a green light to keep pushing forward. You'll feel the ramp. First pack is fine, second pack is quick, and by the time you're rolling stacks you're deleting elites you'd normally respect. Mess up your pace, though, and it falls off. So you build around staying in the scrum, not backing out to reset.
A bad Dawnfire is still useful, but a good one is a different item. Strength and Maximum Life are the baseline you want, because Torment brawling is all about not getting popped during your own aggression. The real chase is extra ranks to Righteousness and any roll that pushes the aura into double-damage territory. Those two are what make the DPS feel "always there" instead of spiky. If you get them, you can lean less on burst windows and more on constant pressure.
World drops can happen, sure, but most of us don't have the patience to pray at every chest. Targeted boss runs are where Dawnfire shows up the most, and Varshan is usually the name you hear first once you're on Torment 1 or higher. Some folks swear they've seen it from Grigoire, Lord Zir, and even Urivar, but Varshan tends to feel steadier across long sessions.
